ABOUT: Created during my time as Artist-in-Residence at Wildacres Retreat in August of 2024, this piece was inspired by the local scenery in the Highlands of North Carolina. This miniature landscape painting was created entirely from needle felted wool fiber. Layers and layers of dyed roving are matted down with a barbed felting needle, bringing this textured 2D piece to life. A handmade wood frame holds the piece and it's ready to hang (a small hole in the back is the perfect spot to hang on a nail). This little beauty is one-of-a-kind.
